Week 10 Blog

Syria has reached its one year anniversary of uprisings. Over 800,000 people have been killed in Syria alone. To me this is an astounding number and should not be looked over by the worlds leaders. A car bomb went off today marking its one year anniversary of uprisings.

I think that Syria should be looked at more than just uprising. Hundreds of thousands of people have died over the past year and that is inhumane what is going on there. I'm not saying the US itself should do something but the worlds leaders need to think about.

Week 9 Blog

This past week a youtube video has sparked the notice of many people. It is the video which is titled Kony 2012. The video talks about how Joseph Kony formed a army out of children by stealing them in the middle of the night  and forcing them to kill their own parents while giving the 9 and 10 year old's weapons.

My thought is that Kony has been around for 22 years now and he is just now becoming "famous." The situation that Kony is putting the children through is absolutely terrible. Joseph Kony needs to be stopped for the children in Uganda's sake. But according to people from Uganda Kony is no longer in that country and has moved somewhere else.
